Our Environmental Law team, including Partner Theologos Mintzas and Associates Ilia Boura and Marianna Papandreou, has compiled a summary of the key points of Directive 2024/1275, recently issued by the European Parliament and the Council on April 24, 2024. This directive updates the framework for reducing emissions and energy use in buildings across the EU and represents a crucial step towards achieving a 60% reduction in emissions in the building sector by 2030 compared to 2015, and creating a decarbonized, zero-emission building stock by 2050.
