Smaragda has a broad European regulatory practice with a focus on advising beneficiary companies on state aid issues and entering in negotiations with the European Commission in the context of the privatization of public companies. Her practice includes advising on the free movement of goods, capital, services and people. She also advises insurance companies and banks on their compliance with regulatory requirements and issues arising from corporate reorganizations, recapitalizations and from their provision of banking, financial, investment and insurance services.
“What I really enjoy when advising clients on financial transactions and state aid / competition issues, is the challenge involved in providing commercially viable and solution orientated advice. My priority is to help our clients meet their needs and objectives by offering practical solutions based on sound legal advice. I applied to work with PotamitisVekris because of its international reputation, significant market presence and recognised expertise in financial matters giving me the opportunity to work with a highly experienced team.”
