Sophia has broad experience in banking and finance transactions, including Project and Acquisition Finance, Syndicated Lending, Debt Restructuring, Interbank Lending and OTC Derivative Agreements. She also advises on banking and finance regulatory issues and in banking recovery projects.
In 2013 she was actively involved in the recapitalization of the Greek banks and the recovery procedure of the Cypriot Banks through the sale of their operations in Greece.
We proudly announce that POTAMITISVEKRIS’ Banking & Finance team represented Piraeus Bank S.A. on a €75mn debt refinancing of the Katikies Group, a pioneer in the development of the luxury hotel concept and the provision of high-quality services in Greece that currently owns and operates several luxury boutique hotels in Mykonos and Santorini. Legal support for the transaction, which reached financial close at the end of Q1 2024, was coordinated by Anthea Terlegas (Partner) assisted by Sophia Thanou (Senior Associate), Alexandros Vaisidis (Associate) and Despoina Mangel (Associate) and included advising on issues relating to the exit of the Group’s strategic investor, SouthBridge Europe Mezzanine.
