“Brain Drain & Gain” KPMG Event

POTAMITISVEKRIS will be attending the KPMG Greece event for the presentation of its research on “Brain Drain & Gain”, at the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation (Athens College) on 27 June. Peggy Velliotou, Managing Partner at KPMG Advisory, will present the key findings of the survey and our Managing Partner, Stathis Potamitis, will join a panel of exceptional speakers to discuss the topic.

Event regarding the law on corporate transformations (L.4601/2019)

The Greek Commercial Lawyers Association together with the Greek Tax Law & Fiscal Studies Association, are organizing an event regarding the recently enacted law for corporate transformations (law 4601/2019). Aspasia Malliou, Head of our Tax Department will participate in the event and will try to shed light on artificial arrangements in corporate transformations, aiming at avoiding taxation. The event is dedicated to the memory of Leonidas Georgopoulos and will be held on June 13, 2019, at Nomiki Bibliothiki (23 Mavromichali str, Athens).

Amendments to the Greek Penal Code

Konstantinos Papadiamantis and Dimitra Dai, Head and Associate respectively of our Civil & Criminal Litigation and Arbitration department, co-authored an article for “Kathimerini” newspaper.
The article focuses on the upcoming amendments to the Greek Penal Code regarding breach of fiduciary duty and particularly on the process by which the criminal procedure may be initiated. You may read the article in the following link

Training on Intellectual Property Rights

Our associate lawyer Eirini Zaglanika participated as an external expert of the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA Luxembourg) in the seminar “Training on Intellectual Property Rights: Directive 2015/2436 of the EU Trademark Reform Package”, organized by EIPA Luxembourg in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration of Serbia. The seminar took place in Belgrade on May 22 & 23 and provided a practice-oriented overview of Directive (EU) 2015/2436 on the approximation of the laws of EU Member States relating to trademarks, as well as in-depth explanations on the substantial and procedural novelties introduced by the Directive. The Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) & the Practical Antitrust Compliance Guide

Dimitris Loukas, Head of the EU, Competition & Antitrust practice, will participate in the presentation by The Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) of an exclusive practical guide for businesses regarding compliance with the competition regulatory framework. Dimitris has contributed to the guide, on “Cartels and Collusion” chapter.
The event shall take place on Thursday, May 30, 4 pm, at the offices of SEV (5 Xenophontos str., Syntagma Square). The invitation can be found here
